The fall/winter 2017-18 Armani Privé collection debuted in Paris last week, impressing us with pale hues of wisteria, sky blue, magnolia, and celadon, contrasting against a black backdrop.
The collection was full of mystery, exploring the possibilities of lightness with a touch of darkness, each look transformed by a worn black veil. Leather ribbons encrusted with crystals, floral contours, embroider, and brought to mind a certain kind of woman—one in touch with her senses. Silhouettes were form fitting, with neck lines—even in jackets—low, waists accentuated, and hips hugged. Hemlines were low, grazing the floor, tapered, or hitting mid calf, all complemented by fabrics full of embellishments and textures.
