By whitewall

October 22, 2020

Today, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo unveils the second edition of ArtColLab, featuring limited-edition pieces by artist Michael Armitage and designer Stella Jean, available on YOOX.

Art ColLab, which launched last year, is a collaborative project that brings together artists from different disciplines to create limited-editions, with all profits directed towards supporting emerging creatives. The initiative is committed to cultural diversity and helping the future leaders of art and fashion industries through sustainable design.

Armitage and Jean created two sweaters made of 100% wool, with 300 pieces for women and 150 for men. Marrying Jean’s ethically sound designs and colorful aesthetic with Armitage’s dreamlike palette and expressionistic style, the collection explores cultures and traditions. “The sweaters we designed are a demonstration of how multi-culturality applied to fashion and art can become a practical example of open dialogue and intimate, everyday confrontation,” said Jean.

All proceeds from the sale of the sweaters will benefit Fondazione Sandretto RR and Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute (NCAI), a non-profit visual art space dedicated to the growth and preservation of contemporary art in East Africa.
