Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2025 campaign with Laurent Grasso

Artist Laurent Grasso Tapped for Louis Vuitton’s Lastest Campaign

Louis Vuitton revealed its Spring/Summer 2025 campaign, featuring Lisa and Saoirse Ronan amid the work of French painter Laurent Grasso.

This month, Louis Vuitton debuted its Spring/Summer 2025 campaign, shot by Steven Meisel and featuring house ambassadors Lisa and Saoirse Ronan. The imagery reflects the artistic vision of Artistic Director Nicolas Ghesquièré, who closed the season’s show in October of 2024 with three meticulously crafted looks integrating the ethereal landscapes by French artist Laurent Grasso.

For this campaign, inspiration is drawn from Grasso‘s latest series, “Studies Into the Past.” Cast in uncertainty and illusion, Grasso’s depicts a black rectangle, within an immaculate, untouched landscape. The presence of the geometric form challenges one’s perceptions of the otherwise pristine scenery, while the technical mastery behind the piece blurs the lines of its perceived time of origin. Set against this artwork, Lisa and Saoirse Ronan stand out gracefully, their presence harmonizing with the Renaissance-inspired piece. Their elegant stature supplies a sense of warmth and modernity that defies the constraints of time, illustrating the coexistence of both the past and present.

Who is the Artist, Laurent Grasso?

Laurent Grasso, born in France in the early 1970s, is a contemporary artist who works across various media aiming to reconstruct both human and natural experiences, often challenging the viewer’s sense of certainty and equilibrium. His work immerses the viewer in a surreal opposition to time and space, inviting them to question their boundaries of reality. Grassos, Studies of the past, created on wood with oil paint, draws inspiration from the techniques used in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. This conceptual series aims to reconstruct our perception of other eras. In collaboration with a team of specialists, he fuses past techniques with contemporary artistic vision, manipulating the distortion of time and challenging the perception of age.

The incorporation of Grasso’s pieces as the backdrop to the Louis Vuitton campaign aligns seamlessly with Ghesquière’s vision of how the past and future may exist cohesively and highlights Ghesquière‘s own fascination with the flattening of time, converging the past and present as a single vision. Meisel embraces the inexplicable and realistic elements of Grasso’s imagery, blending the painted illusions with the grace and modern femininity encompassed by Lisa and Saoirse Ronan throughout this campaign, fusing time and art in a unique way.

Lisa and Saoirse Ronan, both internationally acclaimed talents, made their debut as Louis Vuitton house ambassadors, embracing the delicate femininity that acted as the inspiration for Nicolas Ghesquièré, throughout his spring-summer 2025 collection. Lisa is a member of the popular south Korean K-pop girl group Blackpink, which is widely recognized for their top hits “Ice Cream” and “Pink Venom.” Beyond her success as a member of Blackpink, she has thrived in her career as a solo artist, with her second single “Money” becoming the first K-pop single to reach one billion streams on Spotify. Lisa’s rise in the music industry evolves daily, as she continues to release singles and currently stands as the most-followed K-pop artist on Instagram. Her versatility is said to further extend into acting, as she makes her debut in the third season of the popular show White Lotus.

Saoirse Ronan began in Hollywood at the early age of 13, with her outstanding performance as Briony Tallis, in Atonement. This breakthrough role earned her both BAFTA and Oscar nominations, setting the stage for her remarkable career. Over the years, she has further proven her talent, becoming a four-time Oscar-nominated actress. Her recent projects include starring in Steven McQueen‘s historical film Blitz and both acting in and producing in, The Outrun, the film adaptation of the best-selling memoir written by Amy Liptrots. Ronan embodies the elegance and timeless sophistication that encapsulates Louis Vuittons graceful artistic direction.
