After being closed for four years straight due to renovations, the fashion museum in Paris, Palais Galliera, reopened last September with an exhibition paying homage to designer Azzedine Alaïa. The exhibition, curated by Olivier Saillard, includes 74 dresses, all hand-made and hand-picked from private collections from no particular season, showcasing over three decades of designing.
The dresses range from mini, gown, cut-out, leather, wool, studded, chiffon, caped, cinched, to backless. Some of the garments have been previously worn by muses Tina Turner, Rihanna, Naomi Campbell, and Farida Khelfa. The high ceilings, burgundy walls, mosaic floors, and velvet curtains in the museum highlight Alaïa’s signature designs.
Open Gallery
The exhibition is on view through January 26.
