Bottega Veneta’s “Art of Collaboration” exhibition opened yesterday at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art (UCCA) in Beijing. The show, open through June 28, tells the story of the brand partnering with photographers like Nan Goldin, Stephen Shore, Alex Prager, Robert Longo, Sam Taylor Johnson, Ryan McGinley, Peter Lindbergh, Ralph Gibson, Jack Pierson, David Armstrong, and Mona Kuhn.
The first of its kind, the exhibition also highlights 15 years of collaborations under Bottega Veneta’s Creative Director, Tomas Maier. Maier travelled to Beijing to host the opening cocktail event, alongside featured photographers Pierson and Gibson.
The show tells the story of Maier’s evolution of the fashion house through bold distinctive images. Its novelty emanates from the collaboration between Maier and all the artists that contributed to Bottega Veneta’s advertising portfolio, separated by seasonal campaigns from 2002 to 2016, while the official “Art of Collaboration” project began in 2011 with the determination to merge visionary design with captivating imagery.
