For its Summer 2026 collection, Burberry returned to Perks Field in Kensington, reaffirming its deep ties to both London and British culture. Under the creative direction of Daniel Lee, the house staged a show that merged the spirit of fashion and music—two art forms that have consistently shaped identity, challenged convention, and offered a universal language of expression.
“Music is about self-expression, originality, and belonging,” Lee said ahead of the show. “From festivals and stadiums to open-air concerts, every summer the UK comes to life with style and sound.” His words echoed across the collection, where silhouettes, fabrics, and motifs transformed into a visual remix of the British soundscape.

The Burberry Summer 2026 collection is rooted in craftsmanship, with an emphasis on detail that elevates the everyday into the extraordinary. Crochet tops and trousers carried an artisanal sensibility, while laser-cut leather mimicked the delicacy of lace, and entire garments were beaded from hem to collar. Chainmail dresses—color-blocked in bold tones—shifted Burberry’s house codes into the realm of performance wear, shimmering like instruments under stage lights
Lee drew inspiration from multiple genres, pressing “shuffle” across Britain’s musical landscape. Trench coats spliced with macramé, woven cotton and raffia raincoats, and fringed edges nodded to festival dressing. Meanwhile, the tailoring was refined and sharp—three-button jackets and slim-leg trousers paired with striped cotton shirts and silk ties—bringing a mod-like energy that underscored the duality of Burberry’s town-and-country ethos.

Color played a central role in this season’s narrative. While Burberry grounded the collection in familiar tones of beige, brown, and indigo, Lee punctuated the palette with bursts of saturated color, refracted through chainmail mesh or woven into jacquards. Argyle and tiled patterns appeared on shirts and knitwear, while prints drew from unexpected references, including Edwardian tarot card illustrations by British artist Pamela Colman Smith. Sun and cloud motifs embroidered across separates added a touch of the esoteric, suggesting the dreamlike haze of a British summer.
Modern finishes gave movement to fabrics—coated denims, waxed cottons, python-printed leathers, and foil-coated denim reflected light with every step. It was a collection designed to catch the eye, to glimmer and shift like the stage lights of an open-air concert.

Shoes and bags became vehicles for both utility and expression. The Tone lace-up boot, rugged and mid-calf, was offered in weathered canvas, leather, and Burberry Check intarsia. The Ledger boot—an equestrian-inspired staple—appeared in cracked leather and python-printed finishes. Meanwhile, the new Baez sandal, studded and whipstitched, injected an outdoor sensibility.
Bags, too, were softened and unstructured, with the new Hampstead shoulder bag debuting in check intarsia leather and totes accented with zips and studs. The Equestrian Knight closure, a modern reworking of Burberry’s emblem, appeared across minis and totes trimmed with dramatic fringing. Bridle bags, with equestrian-inspired handles, emphasized the house’s heritage while embracing contemporary shapes.
Set and Soundtrack at Perks Field
Burberry’s staging at Perks Field reinforced its dialogue between heritage and innovation. The tent, finished in the house’s signature gabardine hue, reflected Burberry’s pioneering history while offering shelter from London’s unpredictable skies. Inside, the runway and seating cubes—rendered in earth tones—evoked the raw energy of Britain’s summer live music scene.
The soundtrack sealed the collection’s connection to music. Longtime collaborator Benji B curated tracks from the archive of legendary British band Black Sabbath, layering “Planet Caravan,” “You Won’t Change Me,” and “N.I.B.” over the procession of models. The heavy metal pulse resonated with Lee’s idea of musicians as pioneers—fearless in both sound and style.

The cast itself embodied diversity and individuality, from runway stalwarts like Edie Campbell and Sora Choi to newer names like Malik Derdak and Xinyue Guo. This mix reflected Burberry’s belief in music’s power to connect people across backgrounds and experiences, mirroring the eclectic nature of the UK’s music and fashion scenes.
Lee’s Burberry is one that looks both backward and forward—paying homage to the house’s archival trenches, fabrics, and codes while remixing them for a generation defined by fluidity, creativity, and performance. “Musicians have always been pioneers—fearless in the way they dress and sound,” Lee reminded us. His Summer 2026 collection proves that Burberry, too, remains fearless in its pursuit of reinvention.
