Charlotte Olympia fall/winter 2017

Charlotte Olympia’s Murderous Accessories

On Sunday, Charlotte Olympia presented a new fall/winter 2017 collection “An Accessory to Murder” with an accompanying film, directed by Sophie Edelstein and starring Bambi Northwood Blyth. With film noir inspiration coming from stars like Lauren Bacall, Rita Hayworth, and Barbara Stanwych, designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal showed her signature shoes and bags, full of retro-inspired details, on the leading ladies of the film.

Booties were seen with miniature collars, covered in newspaper clippings, trimmed with fuzzy fur, and with bold cut-out graphics. Old-world glamour was portrayed through wristlet bags—some as broken hearts, others disguised as miniature bottles of poison. A new clutch featured a cat burglar, and there was even a new iconic shoe featuring mini whistles—perfect for Bacall’s famous line “You know how to whistle, don’t you?” and the bag that reads “If you want me just whistle.”

It’s clear the collection, with looks to kill, is surely worth murdering for.
