This holiday season’s Calvin Klein windows are a tribute to the brand’s minimalist, classic aesthetic. Miniature model trains were custom-designed by Snarkitecture in black and weave around hundreds of freestanding white rods, which create the illusion of a snow-filled storefront. Calvin Klein Collection, alongside the Art Production Fund, approached Snarkitecture, known for pushing the boundaries of architecture. The sleek, monochromatic palette is consistent with the group’s design ideology, as co-founder Alex Mustonen said, “We often work in a reduced and simplified palette, so creating this holiday installation for Calvin Klein Collection within their John Pawson-designed flagship store was in many ways an ideal venue for us.” The playful trains invoke holiday nostalgia and whimsy, while maintaining the brand’s refined tastes.
The holiday windows are on view through December 2014.
