Cynthia Rowley presented her fall/winter 2015 collection on Friday with an online video presentation emblazoned with a warning. Epileptics beware: it might cause seizures. It was a dramatic, yet democratic way to forgo the typical fashion show.
Strobe lights and smoke aside, the collection was a prim, youthful spin on the 1970s. Looks featured a fusion of lace, sheerness, sequins, wide-leg trousers, and fun florals in a palette of plum, midnight blue, dark chocolate brown, and slate with accents of coral and cream. Silhouettes ranged from long skirted gossamer dresses to clean-cut mini and knee-length sheaths with sheer bishop’s sleeves. We particularly loved a knee-length, A-line dress in plum brocade with mock turtleneck and bishop’s sleeves of gauzy purple lace. It was paired with knee-high, floral-print boots; the perfect combination of demure and playful.
