Eidos Napoli’s “La Casetta in Sabbia”

By Kelsey Miranda

July 20, 2015

Eidos Napoli’s spring/summer 2016 collection “La Casetta in Sabbia” [Little House in the Sand] is effortlessly cool and grounded in tradition. Every season, creative director Antonio K. Ciongoli chooses a male muse to inspire the collection. This season’s muse is CEO of Marni, Gianni Castiglioni’s signature style and beach house in Formentera, Spain.

The focus was on silhouette, texture, and kept to an earthy palette. The looks varied from tailored suits to more casual and bohemian styles. One we especially enjoyed was a Smith & Co. Woolens solaro “NMWA” suit that was paired with a white chambray collar shit, charcoal cotton knit tie, and black pebble grain longwing bluchers. Another look that we predict will be a hit, is a Spanish inspired “Formentera” stripe cotton/linen shawl cardigan paired with a white Japanese denim western with trapunto-stitched collar and cuffs, natural Japanese cotton/linen basket weave drawstring pants, and brown solaro espadrilles.

Eidos Napoli is based in New York, but the production is all done in Italy; bridging contemporary styles and Italian tradition. It makes Italian-inspired fashion more accessible to a younger generation of New Yorkers.
