Celebrating its flagship store opening on Madison Avenue earlier this year, Fendi collaborated with five iconic New York women to launch the Fendi 3Baguette project. While working closely with Fendi’s atelier, Silvia Venturini, artist Rachel Feinstein, supermodel Jourdan Dunn, ManRepeller blogger Leandra Medine, musician Rihanna, and actress Sarah Jessica Parker exemplified New York’s unique, creative spirit to create personalized 3Baguette handbags (and a few detachable clutches!). Using Fendi’s motto “Nothing is Impossible” as fashionable ammo, these iconic New York women made their handbags available for auction from February 13-March 13, with the entirety of its proceeds going to the charity of their choice.
Artist Rachel Feinstein’s bag benefitted the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital to provide ongoing support and research fellowships for innumerable diabetes initiatives. Her handbag is trimmed with beige leather and encompasses neutral beaded swirls of charcoal grey and midnight blacks, with mustard yellow, army greens, deep oranges, and maroons making up images of large fish. Its detachable clutch, big enough to double as a mini-handbag, but small enough to fit inside, is held by a gold chain and decorated with two figures facing each other, delicately dressed in Renaissance-esque attire.

The 3Baguette is a contemporary take on Fendi’s classic Baguette, with a more sheer and structured design. While maintaining original shapes, the bag makes use of the double FF buckle, as it doubles as a lock for the bag. The personal, philanthropic-focused bags came in leather, unique embroideries and inlays, with python and crocodile skins, and were complemented by double-pleated elements that exposed contrasting colors.
