Tadashi Shoji combines a calming beach theme with edgy mesh cutouts and geometric shapes to create his first resort collection. The resort 2015 collection’s nautical theme with bold colors of blue, hot pink, and neutrals convey a very straightforward look. On one dress, mermaids grace the pattern with jellyfish, starfish, anchors, and seahorses.
The looks bring a fresh, edgy touch with seemingly showy patterns, asymmetric stripes, and beach-themed lace. Modern moments are found via cutouts and mesh fabrics. In one look, there are mesh overlays down a conservatively styled dress with long short sleeves and a collared top. The lace exudes casual summer with polka dot patterns and a very feminine feel.

Patterns of shells, bold colors, stripes and stiff materials make it look like Shoji took the idea of a large-brimmed sun hat and made them into dresses. Comfortable, stylish and made for the modern woman, the only thing missing from this collection are the hats themselves.
