Giambattista Valli Haute Couture 12

Giambattista Valli Pays Tribute to Franca Sozzani

Giambattista Valli presented its haute couture show in Paris with devastatingly darling touches. Silk organza dresses and ball gowns were seen floating in femininity down the runway, paired with simple hair and makeup choices by the designer to pay tribute to his late friend and fashion world icon Franca Sozzani.

Vibrant dresses in orange, maroon, lavender, and lemon stood bold against delicate and vivacious patterns of dainty flowers of all shapes and sizes. There were the anticipated large layered organza gowns, but also a few out-of-the-ordinary looks, like a matching silk pant and top pairing, and peep-toe tie-up flats. Embellishments like ruffles for collars, cuffs, and shoulders, offered sweet details. There was an entire dress comprised of large horizontal layers of ostrich feathers, and on many of the dresses, we saw large chunky accessories wrapped around the neck, or even the arm.
