Giambattista Valli’s Fairytale Dreams

By Allison Merchant

July 15, 2016

Long tulle trains, embellished ruffles, and empire waistlines: Giambattista Valli designed for a woman with the regality of a queen and the mystic flair of a fairy.

For the fall/winter 2016-17 haute couture collection, models floated down the runway in sparkling off-whites, soft lavender, and enchanting blacks. Most pieces shimmered with jeweled accents or accessories, bewitching and beautiful.

The designer used his mastery of the female silhouette to create the perfect combination of elegance and sensuality. Bare shoulders, small cut outs, high collared necklines, and pouf accents all add to the femininity Gimabattista Valli captures so well.
