This week marks the opening of Pitti Uomo 83, a menswear tradeshow taking place in Florence, Italy through Friday, January 11. The following are the top five picks of ISAIA’s Fall/Winter 2013 Collection selected by founder Gianluca Isaia.
This year’s collection is dedicated to San Gennaro – Saint Januarius – the patron Saint of Naples, and represents the spirit of Naples and conveys its heritage of art, culture, intelligence, and creativity without relying on clichés that do not reveal the depth of its citizens.
With San Gennaro as its muse, ISAIA found the colors of its collection in the exploration of the relationship between San Gennaro and Mt. Vesuvio. From the frescos of pompeii, the beautifully aged murals inside the chapel of San Gennaro and color depictions of the lava from Mt. Vesuvio, beautiful shades of okra, rust and burnt red emerged as accents to a bevy of masculine grays, blues and browns.
More importantly, this season marks the large screen debut of the ISAIA sportswear collection. Beautiful outerwear silhouettes, expertly toeing the line between functionality and luxury in exclusive cashmere-silk fabric, sweaters in lush cashmere and cashmere blend yarns, and leather pieces in a special washed suede, make the perfect complement to the ISAIA clothing collection.
ISAIA is a luxury brand that men with personality and taste gravitate towards. With an obsession for details, each piece incorporates the essence of sartorial tradition re-interpreted in a contemporary way. ISAIA offers the complete wardrobe for the modern gentleman. A man who is passionate, sophisticated, and charming in an unconventional way. A true man.
