A collection inspired from the essence of nature and themes from iconic operas, Valentino Haute Couture spring/summer 2014 combined the beauty of mother nature with the drama of the opera. With capes of butterflies, wild animals on coats, silk flowers, musical notes, and knotted feathers, each piece kept it straightforward and alluringly distinct, without any overly gaudy embellishments.
Looks of the season included oversized coats, and absolutely no shortage of gowns and dresses (55 in total), each opera-inspired yet unique to itself. Playing off of the idea of nature, tones went from earthy and subdued to feminine and bold. Beiges, grays, deep reds, and rose tones were all incorporated.
