Max Mara’s Summer 2024 eyewear collection is filled with sunglasses and optical styles fit for a chic heat wave. Recently on Shelter Island at The Pridwin Hotel, the Italian fashion brand and its eyewear producer, Marcolin, hosted an elegant fête to unveil the new line.
Max Mara’s Summer 2024 Sunglasses
The seaside location featured Max Mara-branded umbrellas lining the sandy shore, and on the hotel’s sprawling lawn, Max Mara push carts were topped with Summer 2024 sunglasses. Special guests like Sai De Silva, Tina Craig, Casey Fremont, and Jessica Wang took turns trying on an array of styles—including new frames with strong shapes, updated acetate patterns, and tinted lenses.
Max Mara Eyewear is Inspired by Architecture and Photography
The Max Mara eyewear line is notably inspired by the internationally renowned architect Eileen Gray and the iconic photographer Lee Miller. Details gained from the sharp edges of buildings and the soft aesthetics of black-and-white imagery blend to create timeless, sophisticated shapes and styles.
At The Pridwin Hotel, other guests and patrons of the worlds of culture, fashion, art, architecture, and more—like Kaye Bassey, Lindsey Baldwin, Erika Bearman, Irina Kro, Jared Seligman, Dylan Reiff, Dani Stahl, J. Logan Horne, Carolyn Angel, Kristina O’Neill, Magnus Berger, Rory Satran, Nicole Fritton, and J. Errico—joined to test-run the new Max Mara line, leading into lunch.
Max Mara’s Lunch at The Pridwin Hotel
To the tune of a live violinist, Whitewall joined the group for a decadent Long Island lunch. Of course, there was a lobster roll, but there were also oysters, Italian salads, deviled eggs, grilled fish, pasta, and more. Sparkling wine and rosé filled gorgeous crystal glasses positioned nex to lush floral bouquets.
While guests dined and enjoyed the gorgeous views through Max Mara lenses, a commissioned artist monogrammed each visitor’s eyeglass case with the choice of a summery icon, like a cherry or a flower. After the intimate lunch, VIPs departed from The Pridwin Hotel, snapping photos in their new sunnies and hugging goodbye. Although Max Mara’s Summer Camp had come to a close, all attendees knew that by putting on its Summer 2024 eyewear line, bright moments were ahead.
