Next week for Art Basel Miami Beach, many New Yorkers, international art professionals, and leaders in the luxury and fashion worlds will flock to Collins Avenue for a week of fairs, parties, events, and maybe some beach time if they’re lucky. Like all frequent travelers, its important for these far-flung creative types to dress for the location. We asked Nina Flohr, creative director of Vista Jet what she’s packing for the 11th edition of Art Basel Miami Beach. She shares with us 10 items she won’t leave behind, kicking off for us a new series on Whitewallmag.com, “In the Bag.”
I like to travel with a Cire Trudon candle, particularly the Dada scent. It makes every hotel feel like home. My long purple skirt by Dior is perfect for traveling. I can wear it with a T-shirt and sneakers during the day or dress it up at night. I pack my vintage US navy glasses from Retrospecs, LA to embrace the warm sun. My new favorite top is a Dolce and Gabbana blouse, which I match with blue jeans. I love the tight neckline and lace fringe. I wear the Canfora Capri sandals in neutral color for any warm day or night. The Body Deli’s Cucumber Gel is my favorite cream. It’s the most versatile I know. From Columbia, I travel with the Muzungu Sisters’ brown Mochila bag. It is practical for the daytime and I love matching it with formal evening attire. I pack white high top Converse for the days that involve more walking or the potential rain showers. No trip is complete without a white long sleeved James Perse round neck T-shirt. For noise isolation, I go with the Bowers and Wilkins headphones.
