ISAIA presented a collection inspired by the mosaics of Pompeii at Pitti Uomo last week. A new series of garments were presented alongside an exhibition and book of photographs by Pio Foglia entitled “Eros in Pompeii.”
The town of Pompeii was only discovered in 1748, after hundreds of years of being buried and preserved in lava and ash from the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Among what was excavated were beautiful villas, covered in exquisite and colorful tiles and frescoes.

For the fall/winter 2015 collection, rustic ochre and muddy blood red (also known as red Pomeiano) found throughout the swallowed city are the foundation for a collection of jackets, collared shirts, ties, and sweaters.
