It’s Black-and-white In Armani’s SS15 Menswear Collection

No contributor

Emporio Armani’s 2015 men’s spring/summer collection is monochromatic, in stark black and white with not much in between except a few shades of navy. Though the collection doesn’t take a leap with wild and modern colors, it does so with pattern and design on basics.

Armani plays with geometry in this collection, from small circles, to thick, tiled squares to varying widths of parallel lines. He also does this with jackets. Pea coats, parkas, and mackintoshes are some of the various jackets the collection delves into. One slim jacket puts a single button on the front for a low waistline with thin lapels and pagoda shoulders.

Revealing the complexity behind something that is seemingly simple at face value is truly what Armani succeeded in doing.
