Sophistication has never come at such ease as it has for Jil Sander Navy’s fall/winter 2016 collection. Full of fresh, feminine casual and formal wear, the label’s newest collection plays heavily on layers and volumes. New dimensions and dynamics are created by a few interplays, such as coat collars that blend to pocket openings and sewn-in shirttails. Long cardigans are buttoned up halfway, tied around the waist, and worn as skirts, and slim fitted pants are worn under pleated skirts for extra dimensionality. Large belts are combined to outfits, adding a rebellious touch to sophisticated undertones, and triangle jacquard colored prints are thrown in to mix up the neutral color palette.
As the multi-dimensional pieces take on new shapes, the collection also has some standout pieces, including a few accessories. A faux fur backpack in midnight navy blue is also seen as a large tote bag, and miniature cross-body bags are seen among large chain wristlet clutches. Pointed black and white lace-up shoes are paired with each look, giving an edgy relaxed vibe for the ready-to-wear silhouettes.
