Jil Sander Navy’s New Take on Summer Shapes

Eliza Jordan

20 September 2016

Jil Sander Navy’s spring/summer 2017 collection was a feminine positive presentation full of sweet and summery details. High-waisted dresses, knit sweaters, and flowy trousers were seen creating fluid silhouettes between elongated blazers, two-tone dresses, and A-line skirts. Elegance was subtly exuded through many of the lengths and proportions, and with the dash of sportswear, tailoring, and couture techniques, the collection is seen flaunting a new approach to shapes. In addition to Bermuda pants, unlined pants, and belted jackets, we saw various soft and smart materials used like cotton, poplin, faille-taffeta, and Japanese satin cloquet. With a color palette to dress you for any season, the bright pops of color, amid stripes, florals, and solid whites, were a playful addition for Jil Sander Navy.

To add to the charming offering, the brand presented special details in its footwear, like a hand-painted heel that resembles the bamboo used in a bistro chair. Multi-colored accessories, like bags, clutches, necklaces, brooches, and bracelets completed the Jil Sander Navy’s fully encompassed summer wardrobe.
