For its 18th New York Fashion Week show, LIE designer Lee Chung Chung—the son of designer Lie Sangbong—presented his spring/summer 2018 collection inspired by the modern-day evolution of femininity entitled “PERFECT IMPERFECTION : PERFECTLY I’MPERFECT.” The 26-look collection, presented at Skylight Clarkson Square, included minimalist design with maximalist expression—a juxtaposition that merged classic details with a youthful feel.
A few sashes that read “Perfectly Imperfect” were worn diagonally from shoulder to hip on a few of the looks. Combinations of ruffles and cut-outs were seen, too, along with waist cinching on some of the tops, and shoulder ties on dresses. There was a wide range of both subdued and bold colors, complementing the flowing fabrics, sunglasses, handbags, and head wraps, too. The show ended with 69-year-old Canadian supermodel Maye Musk (Elon Musk’s mother) strutting down the runway in an all-white look of ruffled pants, a coat with sheer sleeves, and a tee shirt and black shoes that read “PERFECT.”
