Lie Sangbong’s First-Ever Resort Collection

By Kelsey Miranda

June 16, 2015

Lie Sangbong debuted his first resort collection this 2016 season. The minimal, linear silhouettes, in contrast with caftan-inspired styles showcase the study of his construction techniques. Inspired by juxtapose ideals, the resort collection features a mix of hard and soft, masculine and feminine, lightness and texture. The color palette is very simple, featuring solids of tan, ocean blue, peach, and cream. A trench coat accompanied with an ankle length peach chiffon dress, effortlessly drapes down the body. The outerwear pieces are comprised of light wool, chiffon, and silk, adding a simple elegance and diversity to the line, with menswear-inspired details and deep V-necks in blazers and vests.

Many pieces have gold and silver chains that are removable, created to stay on or removed to use as bracelets and necklaces. A white silk-satin blazer with the gold and silver embellishments on the pockets is a great example of the versatility of this season. The looks are available in November 2016 at retailers across the globe, including the brand’s US boutique located at 30 Gansevoort St in New York City.
