Last Tuesday, Louis Vuitton presented the sixth biennial UNICEF Ball, honoring UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador David Beckham and President of the University of Southern California C.L. Max Nikias. The evening played host to a special performance by Mariah Carey, enjoyed by guests like Léa Seydoux, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Connelly, Paul Bettany, Selena Gomez, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Miranda Kerr, Xavier Dolan, Doona Bae, Tao Okamoto, and Carina Lau.
Emceed by UNICEF Ambassador Angie Harmon, the night also marked the beginning of a global partnership between Louis Vuitton and UNICEF, aimed at supporting children around the world affected by humanitarian emergencies. The alliance has resulted in the #MakeAPromise digital campaign with friends of the fashion house posting images linking pinkies as a promise to aid young people in need. It also saw the release of the specially created Silver Lockit, which pays homage to Georges Vuitton‘s 1890 un-pickable tumbler lock, with $200 going towards UNICEF with every purchase.
