The fall/winter 2014 menswear creations of Giorgio Armani were unveiled in Milan on Tuesday, earlier this week. By using cut fabrics of a more resilient and softer feel, the garments became more athletic-meets-business, rather than strictly professional.
The classic jacket, conversely, took on a more refined air of a tight knit cardigan, with more relaxed shoulders and a comfortable, easy fabric.
Sweaters were paired with slim pants, and basic overcoats with high collars and wool sweaters. To keep in the trend with the season, there was no shortage of fur: detachable inserts poked out from the hoods of soft overcoats and jackets.
The color palette kept it conventional, ranging from dark sand, blue, and brown to burgundy, jade green, and mauve. Strong, valorous prints were set aside for the season to obtain a more concise and rhythmic style.
