Named “Crossroads,” Brunello Cucinelli’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection encouraged a new worldview, one full of opportunity—to learn, exchange, and explore. In a rich palette of blue, grey, and beige (with moments of orange, red, and green), garments exuded ease, whether in the softness of touch or shape. Cashmere, superfine wool, and suede were balanced with stripes, tweed, and houndstooth.

Dolce & Gabbana made headlines with Machine Gun Kelly, newly engaged to Megan Fox, opening its Fall/Winter 2022 show. The collection celebrated the Metaverse and its expansion of our understanding of reality, identity, space, and time. Using linear geometry, technical fabrics, and handmade prints, the collection embraced the future of fashion and our collective cultural future alike. Logomania in black-and-white was mixed with graffiti-inspired prints by artist @bocheone. Accessories like glasses, masks, and a new “Toy” shoe style were also inspired by the metaverse.

#D2Hi_king was the name of Dsquared2’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection, signifying a return to the runway after two years away. The season follows a spirit of travel and adventure, from one mountain to the next, whether physical or metaphorical. Layers, colors, textures, and patterns abounded—focused on statements and silhouettes ready for expeditions, fly fishing, rock-climbing, camping, or hiking. Dsquared2 is encouraging its wearers to get out there, get high on life, and get back to feeling (and dressing) like the kind of the world they are!

Kiton’s Fall/Winter 2022 recognizes the recalibration that’s taken place recently, thanks to digital acceleration and a change in our everyday habits. Focusing on elegance, luxury, and comfort, formal and leisurewear collide in an updated wardrobe of ultra-precious coats, shearling jackets, lightweight down jackets, and more. Brown, moss green, burgundy, grey, blue, and back are found through a mix of materials for the season, like waterproof wool, BlackWatch tartan, and fine cashmere.

Philipp Plein is projecting 2022 as “The Turnaround Year,” taking the opportunity to present a new vision for the fashion world. That looks like a physical expansion for the brand, as well as a collection for Fall/Winter 2022 full of vibrant color, pattern, and art. “Art has always been a great inspiring source for me and today I’m proud to celebrate and share this Art Gallery to open a new design chapter, where fashion meets art,” said Plein. Alongside a presentation featuring all Black models walking the runway, Plein introduced a marble sculpture inspired by Gruppo Laocoonte and buit other unique objects in a series of fantasy characters named “Lil Monsters.”
