Missoni brought a new vibrancy to old-school graphics, as they debuted their fall/winter 2015 collection this past Sunday in Milan. Materials with images of warped wood, marble, and other interior design replications were seen between large blurred zigzags that mimicked television static. Recurring on dresses, trousers, blazers, and skirts, space-dyed patterns were seen on metallic mesh and sheer jersey.
Colors ranged from an irregular white and black, to psychedelic oranges, bright reds, and piercing purples. Masculine jackets, both short and long, showed tuxedo lapels. Deep V-necks and oval cutouts on the chest made their mark on dresses—some paired with tight, legging-like pants. Calfskin boots, shoes, and sabots debuted heels made of resin and metal. Marbled bags featured sides and laminated suede linings. Larger leather bags with two handles also had sides of laminated suede.
Illuminating maxi dresses, funky matching pantsuits, and elongated blazers added a playful element. Spectacular to the eye, elastic to the touch, and colorfully charming, this new collection gives a breathe of fresh, funky air to the season ahead.
