Romantic silhouettes and flirty hems were recently seen in Missoni’s gorgeous new resort 2017 collection—a modern suite full of pleated skirts, swinging shirts, summer dresses, and shaggy vests. Mixed among the classic Missoni zigzag print, we saw a handful of patterns: bold colors in stripes; diagonal, horizontal, and vertical lines; sweet, miniature flowers; large triangles; and other textile-like patterns.
Eyelash detailing and ruffles were seen softening up some of the looks’ neck and hemlines, while layering offered an extra look for many of the thin cardigans, T-shirts, and button-down sleeveless V-neck vests. Wide and slender waist belts also made a statement, as did clutches, purses, and slinky scarves with long, dainty fringe. We got an eye-full of corsage-like rings and bracelets, headbands, mid-calf socks, stretching slip-on flats, pumps with clear heels, and lace-up Oxfords—all in an array of bright colors and fun patterns.

Although resort collections tend to be full of summer-only attire fit for the jet-setter in you, this collection had some powerful high notes to debunk the one-season-only resort rule: Flowing sleeveless jumpsuits that are seen to be perfect for layering; a mini-dress with balloon sleeves in mixed prints; woven sheath dresses; a shirt made up of bold tassel layers in varying colors; and a two-piece purple duo showing Missoni’s classic zigzag print—a perfect outfit to celebrate the festive months ahead.
