Moncler captures the perfect storm of stylish outerwear with its fall/winter 2016-2017 collection, within which the French brand collaborated with Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh to create Moncler O.
The collection dove into uncharted waters, inspired by fishermen of the Northern seas. To battle the turbulent weather, Moncler O includes long jackets and puffer coats with fixed or detachable hoods, fashion-saving waistcoats influenced by life jackets, and over-sized paints with a flexible waistband made of MAC, the double waterproof cotton similar to Britain’s 19th century Navy uniforms.
Courtesy of MonclerWith rubber materials and stormy skies prints, this collection brewed a hurricane of harmony amongst chaos. Repeating elements of yellow silicone boots and gloves heightened the level of authenticity to an unmatched precedent. Thematic details were seen with the selected pieces donning tapes and loops to right side of the breast, a signature in Navy garments. However, Moncler O overthrew the stiffening of uniformity and impressed the desire of inclusion into the daring world of rarity.
