Mulberry Transports Us to 1920s Coastal England

By Kelsey Miranda

June 15, 2015

Mulberry’s fresh, simple resort 2016 collection is nostalgic yet contemporary. Inspired by 1920s coastal England, the collection consists of loose fitting silhouettes, art deco prints, and nautical visions. The tomboy style and feminine touches embrace Mulberry’s color palette of midnight blue and cream. Elegance and practicality is embodied in a cream oversized trench coat paired with lightweight loose fit midnight blue trousers. A soft and cool V-neck white dress with large black bird print gives the collection a relaxed and confident edge. Pops of color and sharp lines give this art deco-inspired loose fitting suit a tailored and edgy look.

The collection also displays its assortment of handbags: the Bayswater, the Lily, and the Cara Delevingne bags. The signature square Freya bag gets an update with the Freya Satchel, a neat portable style with an adjustable cross-body strap. Streamline loafers add a causal look to the traditional men shoe, accompanied by a classic sandal with nautical twists.
