Whispery, willowy, and dreamy frocks took precedence at Tadashi Shoji’s spring/summer 2014 collection shown yesterday in New York. From cocktail to full-on evening glam, the designer debuted a collection of tasty confections consisting of airy geometric shapes in organza and sheer lattice lace. Some of the pieces are dripping with handsewn incandescent crystals while other gowns and blouses display sequin embroidery lining sheer lattice lace. A collection described as “Sweet Liberation” by the designer, he took inspiration from the femininity of pastelles, but even his few black ensembles delivered a soft and flirty punch.
