Opening Ceremony & Intel Create MICA: My Intelligent Communication Accessory

By Charlotte Kinberger

November 18, 2014

Move over Google Glass, Opening Ceremony and Intel have teamed up to create their version of wearable technology. MICA (My Intelligent Communication Accessory) fuses smart phone communication capabilities with a fashionable bracelet design. Available in black or white snakeskin, with semiprecious stones and gold plate, the accessory provides access to texts, emails, Facebook notifications, calendar and event notifications, and local business suggestions via Yelp. It also comes readily equipped with two years of AT&T data service paid by Intel. To demonstrate the chic utility of the device, the companies have commissioned a short film by New York-based filmmaker Jenna Elizabeth starring Rashida Jones. MICA will be available in early December, just in time for Christmas, only in the US at Opening Ceremony and Barneys.
