Opening Ceremony’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim found inspiration in friend Spike Jonze for the fall/winter 2015 menswear collection.
Before the director broke through with Beastie Boys’ music video Sabotage, he was documenting skateboarding and BMX subcultures in photos. Those lesser-known images now appear on OC signature pieces such as zip-ups, quarter-length trench coats, pullovers, sweatpants, matching shirt and pant pairings, and more.

The sequenced photography doubles as material art as OC uses 35-millimeter photographic film in varying motion blurs, proportions, techniques, and collages by placing them in seam lines, double sleeves and plackets, shirting, jackets, and knitwear.
