The highly anticipated Off-White c/o Jimmy Choo collaboration is now out, after a runway debut last September at the fashion brand’s spring/summer 2018 runway show. Jimmy Choo’s Sandra Choi and Off-White’s Virgil Abloh came together for what is the shoe brand’s first ever collaboration with a ready-to-wear designer, creating a line of nine different silhouettes.
“I love to mix it up by getting together with a different creative mind identifying our synergies and combining our DNA to create a beautiful and surprising collection with unexpected links to the roots of our brand,” said Choi.
The late Princess Diana of Wales was the muse for Abloh’s spring/summer 2018 collection. Coincidentally, she was one of the first Jimmy Choo devotees. The suite of shoes play with tulle, satin, plastic, and oversized bows, conceptualizing some of Jimmy Choo’s classic looks. Some styles, like the Sara—a mid-calf, padded take on a stylish snow boot—are fit for the off-duty princess. Princess Diana’s late nineties wardrobe influences are infused with bits of Abloh’s modern aesthetic, creating footwear fit for today’s royalty.
