Luxury watchmaker Richard Mille geared up for the 8th edition of Le Mans Classic this July. Since it’s inception in 2002, Richard Mille has been a principle partner of the classic racecar competition, and this year for the occasion, the watch brand crafted the limited-edition RM 11-02 Le Mans Classic.
The timepiece is an automatic caliber in grade five titanium. Some of the features included a variable-geometry rotor, annual calendar, and 24-hour flyback chronograph. There is also a countdown feature so race-goers can simultaneously pulse with the anticipation of the checkered flag wave.
The Le Mans Classic logo appears on the dial at 12 o’clock companioned with the number 16. This intricate detailing alludes to the start of the classic Le Mans race at 16:00 Saturday, July 9.
In addition to creating a limited-edition timepiece for each race, Richard Mille also serves as the official timekeeper for the competition. The race commences the weekend of July 8-10 on the renowned Bugatti circuit in France. Only 150 pieces were crafted for the occasion.
