Peter Dundas was feeling far out for the spring/summer 2017 Roberto Cavalli menswear collection. The designer for Cavalli captured the sensual mystique of the unattainable figures from the seventies—the rockstars. Glamorized styles with fringe and fades returned to the runway.
Dundas gathered inspiration from icons in the music industry like Keith Richards, Rod Stewart, and Mick Jagger. The collection encapsulated the effortless look of mixed textures, blues, and earth tones with Cavalli style integrated in classic leather elements. Thematic suede fringe and Navajo beading carefully complimented outerwear for an authentic journey into the past.

Animal and floral patterns were found in kimonos and blouse-shirts that whispered a slight femininity to the menswear of the decade. The resurgence of a glamorous time in fashion reflected the modernist perception of bohemian and the nonchalant carefulness imbued in contemporary style. Embellishments of turquoise and coral jewelry, raised platform boots, and detailed denim treatments, served as a symbol of the Cavalli devotion to detail. The new Cavalli men exudes a pervasive sensuality in opulent dress and style.
