Thank goodness Rochas hasn’t decided to stray away from beloved bright colors and rambunctiously bold prints. For resort 2017, we are seeing a nice play of oversized and bare-minimum shapes, and an array of new patterns.
For prints, we jotted down a few favorites: parrots, palm fronds, and large jungle leaves with subtle aqua backgrounds; royal purple or black decorated with an array of leafy orange-red, mustard yellow, light lavender, and yellow-green plant life; ivory peonies with a short black stem atop an orange-red backdrop; and thick stripes of emerald green and black, and light copper and black.

Cuts and hemlines gained much attention in this collection, as well, with oversized, boxy coats and baby doll dresses tapered in with bows and slight waves of ruffles. We were drawn to a few of the new shoes, too: backless peep-toe black block heels with an intricate and generous sewing of sequins and gemstones; royal purple sandal platforms with a block heel, an open toe, and an ankle strap, with the wide top-of-the-foot straps donning leaves of shiny detail, topped with a thin purple bow; and white-outlined black leaves covering the foot, drawn up by a thin black strap, delicately connected to the adjustable ankle strap.
It’s never easy picking favorites, so it’s a good thing Rochas offered us 41 different looks to choose from—all fit for our closet’s “favorite” title.
