“It couldn’t be any more modern,” said Humberto Leon, Opening Ceremony (OC)’s co-founder and designer, as he showed us their fun, new collection for men. Inspired by Leon’s ultimate concert experience, OC is debuting their spring/summer 2016 collection dedicated to none other than the world’s best classical composers—and you can bet it has a rebellious twist.
Imagine your favorite band poster plastered on a tee shirt, and then thrown nonchalantly on your bedroom floor. Purposeful wrinkles create their own subtle pattern, and piping detailing gives the material just enough structure to practically stand up on its own. You’ll see Bach and Beethoven—but not in their normal, prestigious light. Oh, no. Rap album-like typeface will present the world-renown names we all know and love.

And if after high school or college, you just can not get enough of Varsity or Letterman jackets, OC is bringing them back for you, but this time, they come equipped with removable Velcro patches. There’s a significant spot in this collection dedicated to musical pieces, and the interchangeable patches that say “symphony,” “tempo,“ and “overture,” represent them quite well. There are timeless wide-leg trousers, boxer-like shorts with ultra-wide elastic waistbands, and jersey-like tees donning your favorite composer for fans all over the stands.
With Opening Ceremony’s new men’s collection, classical composers are back, and they’re better—and badder—than ever.
