Korean designer, Kang Dong Jun debuted his DbyD spring/summer 2016 “Loner” collection on Tuesday at ArtBeam in Chelsea, presented by Concept Korea. DbyD is the sportswear diffusion of the designers more tailored brand, D. GNAK.
The “Loner” collection pays homage to a boy who lives in his imagination rather than hanging out with his friends. The materials were light, loose fitting, and dark in color with hints of green and bright yellows. One look consisting of a matching jacket and pant had a colorful tropical print against a black background. That print and others were found throughout collection, symbolizing a loner boy’s adventurous imagination.
DbyD’s clothes are aimed toward a younger, casual man in a city setting. That ideal urban loner would look great in DBYD’s sleeveless black-and-white leather-like top, paired with black skinny jeans and a white cap.
