The Trussardi men’s spring/summer 2016 collection debuted in Milan as an instillation, not on the runway, in city’s Braidense Library. In many ways the collection bridged art and fashion, past and present, as well as intelligence and elegance.
“I was inspired by a family man–a father, an executive–perfectly dressed on a afternoon of a summer weekend while he relaxes in his study, surrounded by culture and work projects. Afterward he takes a break to clear his mind and enjoy a few outdoor activities,” said Gaia Trussardi. An example of that perfectly encompasses this “family man” look is a navy trench coat paired with an off-white, knitted sweater and linen stitched trouser.
The collection is designed for the man who likes to dress his body and mind. Italian artisanship blended with a relaxed American style creates an easy or loose fitting silhouette. The color palette consists of piano key black and off white, navy blue, and rusty colors similar to brass instruments. We loved the beige sports jacket paired with a tunic-style dress shirt and beige linen stitched pants; it’s strong and decisive in style, with no trace of nostalgia uniforms.
