Ulyana Sergeenko fall/winter 2017-18 haute couture collection, debuting during Paris Couture, told an elegant story. Sergeenko designed around the story of a forties detective, with characters like gangsters and their girlfriends, and the private eyes who chase them swimming around her head.
Silhouettes referenced the cut of the time period: wide and cropped trousers, masculine suits and barrel coats. Looks were made in fabrics of wool, leather, silk, satin, chiffon, jersey, and lace. Accessories included travel bags—a must for any on-the-go outlaw—rose-shaped clutches, berets, fedoras, and bow gloves.
