Uncompromising Contrasts: Daniel Lee Expands Bottega Veneta’s DNA for SS20

In a historic Milanese building, Bottega Veneta debuted its Spring/Summer 2020 collection. “Spring 2020 evolves the codes we are building at Bottega Veneta,” said Creative Director, Daniel Lee. “Our focus is on process and clarity; immediate and direct.”

An evolution of those codes were first seen presented on a clean, reflective runway, under a clear domed roof. Guests lined the catwalk, sitting on long rectangular poufs—some creme, some orange. As the clothes passed by, we saw the “new Bottega” erupt.

New takes on the house’s classic woven details were seen in pointed open-toe shoe models and cross-body bags. Futuristic features popped in new sunglasses, pebble-like clutches, and purses with chain-link straps. With a renewed sense of structure and proportion, uncompromising contrasts are here for the individual to choose from.

“Bottega Veneta is about the individual, it’s for you.” said Lee.
