Valextra Launches PassParTout and Revamps Iside

Eliza Jordan

28 February 2017

For fall/winter 2017, Valextra welcomed a new bag, the PassParTout, and revamped a classic, the Iside. Known for its use of sturdy and soft materials, and ultra-plush furs, too, the brand chose to update its silhouettes.

With double zippers and a removable pocket (which can be removed and used as a clutch), the PassParTout bag comes in two different sizes and can be worn three different ways: as a top-handle bag with an oversized front flap; as a tote with open sides and its closure on the second zipper; and as a duffle bag with its zipper fully closed. Those looking to tailor the bag to their personal style can choose from white, off-white, ash grey, light blue, Mediterranean blue, dark grey, caramel, orange, and black, and materials like felt, woven wool, pony hair, Mongolian fur, cashmere fur, beaver, shearling, fox, astrakhan, and mink.

To celebrate this launch, Valextra partnered with English fiber artist Rebecca Robinson to create eight limited-edition bags in the classic Pergamena leather. Inspiration for the bag came from the creative approach of Snarkitecture for the brand’s 2017 flagship design at the Via Manzoni boutique. There, Snarkitecture created a monochromatic space with their all-white approach, which further inspired the brand to customize the new collection with materials, surfaces, and shapes.

Valextra also dedicated a portion of its collection to the revamping of an old favorite—the Iside. Playful colors were used for the bag’s top handle, alongside accents of different furs. In addition, the bag comes with a raincoat, reminiscent of a 1970s look, to complement and protect the classic accessory for years to come.
