Valiant Self-Expression at Todd Snyder, Gabe Gordon, and More at New York Fashion Week

Join us in celebration of New York Fashion Week, where immersive tales of femininity, ecology, and iconography ebbed and flowed through a parade of scintillating fall/winter 2025 collections.

There was a distinct air of valiant self-expression visible in this year’s New York Fashion Week presentations, evoking the spirited people, places, and poetics that inspired us in our youth and continue to shape our lives. Here, Whitewall brings you the front row into the imaginative shows of FForme, Lingua Franca, Sergio Hudson, Gabe Gordon, SLOAN, and Todd Snyder.

New York-based FFORME paid homage to the timeless divinity of the female form for its winter 2025 runway presentation. Considering the house’s powerful, global heroines, the classic yet cutting-edge fashion house debuted rigorous tailoring in a parade of scintillating looks. Finely molded, feminine shoulder lines in avante-garde gowns gave way to muscular outerwear with ethereal, flared pleating. Celestial, bias cut dresses radiated with hammered shine, featuring the sensual creativity of British artist and art director Blue Farrier. Foamy shades of bubblegum pink, cream, and camel joined with passionate hues of blood red, charcoal, and raven black, culminating in a fantasia of contemporary individualism.

Within the legendary Bowery Hotel, pioneering fashion house Lingua Franca brought its ardent devotion to using ethically sourced textiles to New York Fashion Week. Close friends of the brand and the international glitterati came together to bask in an energetic runway show inspired by the magic and mystery of the beloved hotel. A star-studded cast of models, including Molly Ringwald, Pat Cleveland, Jordan Roth, Gina Gershon, Ann Dexter Jones, Aminatou Sow, and more, strutted in the brand’s latest, artisanal treasures. With a tender focus on Lingua Franca’s signature, embroidery aesthetic, luxurious loungewear and streetwear with fringe detailing, organic patterns, and opulent fabrics evoked the spirited and spontaneous life of an artist in the city—then, now, and forever.

Sergio Hudson’s fall/winter 2025 collection took American sportswear to thrilling new heights with a polished, modern edge and time-honored, romantic touches. Amorous and decadent shades of burgundy, navy, and hunter green simply soared with flourishes of electric blue and chartreuse. Statement-making textures in garments such as luminous suede trench coats, come-hither wool suiting, and cloud-like mohair coats had us yearning for autumn’s arrival. In the house’s second menswear presentation, Mongolian fur and leather coats revealed themselves as must-have favorites, pairing seamlessly with meticulously tailored suits for day to night flawlessness.

Gabe Gordon’s “Rubber Boyfriend” Rocks the Runway with Teen Spirit

“Rubber Boyfriend” was the playful theme of Gabe Gordon’s autumn/winter 2025 ready-to-wear collection. 29 sinewy looks embraced the colors, codes, and crushes of 1980s youth, remembering all its players with the utmost respect and affection. In a theatrical tale of girls emerging from the locker room after dance practice with a high shine, and betrayed lovers battling it out in the gym’s arena, a bold story of sex and vulnerability played out on the New York runway. Garments instilled with horror, fantasy, and catharsis were created in close partnership with Gordon’s partner and costume designer Timothy Gibbons. Layers of leotards, knits adorned with sparkle, softened athletic wear, and collaborations with painter Sasha Gordon urged us to fully embody our teenage dreams.

SLOAN’s Bountiful Ode to Mother Nature for Fall/Winter 2025

SLOAN unveiled a perceptive understanding of Mother Nature’s creative magnificence with its fall/winter 2025 presentation. Taking its cues from the feminine force and lyricism of a shell, an effortlessly chic and bohemian collection unfolded. Retro silhouettes, sharpened lines, and dazzling new structures were notable in beguiling, menswear-inspired garments. There was an ease and comfort seen in the brand’s suiting, jackets, and dresses, championing an on-the-go joie de vivre. A grounded picture was painted for the SLOAN protagonist in natural shades of grey stone, ivory shells, brown earth, and golden sun, with effervescent strokes of blue ocean and midnight sky.

Todd Snyder Brings 1980s Saint-Germain Back to Luxurious Life

“This collection started with a neighborhood, Saint-Germain; a moment in time, the 1980s; and the different uniforms the locals wore,” said Todd Snyder on the lavish fall 2025 collection. Through a serene and cinematic lens, Snyder whisked us back to interludes with writers dreaming at the Café de Flore, businessmen conferring at Le Voltaire, and undergraduate students lingering on the pavement. The dramatic presence of icons like Serge Gainsbourg and Oscar Wilde was brought back to life in classic silhouettes, rich fabrics and textures, and lustful jewel tones. Touchable velvet, hypnotic silk brocade, and buoyant cashmere were simply head-turning in aubergine, emerald green, and obsidian blue.
