A new collection of Silver Lockit bracelets designed by the late Virgil Abloh, Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Artistic Director from 2018 to 2021, launched on April 1 within the Louis Vuitton for UNICEF partnership.
Following his initial collaboration with Louis Vuitton in 2020, Abloh reimagined a second Silver Lockit bracelet collection echoing the initial designs and bearing the same Virgil Abloh signatures, but with new materials and colors: bold chains, silver padlocks, and Louis Vuitton charm on the back, adding a final touch to the iconic design. These new iterations of the bracelet come in natural or black titanium, with thicker neon yellow, rainbow or black bracelet cords.
Abloh designs add a breath of fresh air to his signature take on the Silver Lockit bracelet, launched in February 2020. Louis Vuitton has launched new versions of the bracelet annually in partnership with UNICEF, continuing to support children in need: for every Silver Lockit by Virgil Abloh sold, $100 is donated to UNICEF.
Since 2016, the partnership has worked to bring vulnerable children life-saving support in humanitarian situations all over the world, supporting UNICEF emergency responses including the COVID-19 crisis in India in 2021, the explosion in Lebanon in 2020, the unfolding situation in Afghanistan in 2021, the Boko Haram attacks in Nigeria; during the Rohingya crisis from 2018 to 2019 in Bangladesh; and amidst emergency situations linked to the war in Ukraine, Yemen, and many others over the past six years.
