Two heads are better than one—that was probably the thinking behind Zadig & Voltaire bringing on Paulo Melim Andersson to join the label’s artistic director Cecilia Bönström as designers of the youthful French label. The fall/winter 2015 collection went back to Zadig & Voltaire’s rock-‘n’-roll roots, eschewing the colorful, rave-inspired pieces of last season. Models with attitude walked through a nightclub filled with Marshall speakers and concert equipment boxes wearing short-studded mini skirts, sheer bras with star appliqués, and rich furs, the perfect garments for the “Midnight Vagabond” Zadig & Voltaire was dressing. “She is young, free, rock-‘n’-roll and…Parisian,” read the designer statement.
The collection was a wardrobe ideal for any girl who rocks out on stage or the girl who loves to drink and dance the night away. The frayed sweaters, flowy floral dresses, leather dresses and fur vests were sexy, edgy, and full of life—the exact things that Zadig & Voltaire has become known for. The label also reintroduced its Skinny Love bag in colored python leather with a studded shoulder strap. Now all she needs is a drink in hand and a place to rock out ‘til the early morning.
