Zuhai Murad fall/winter 2017-18 Collection

Zuhair Murad’s 19th Century Gibson Girl

No contributor

Zuhair Murad found inspiration in the quintessential 19th Century female figure: The Gibson Girl for the fall/winter 2017-18 collection. The muse for this season embodies modernity and strength, as much an ideal for beauty as independence.

The collection includes sheath dresses with elongated trails, bodysuits paired with a cape, and floor-length skirts with hemlines detailed in movements from ostrich feathers and pearled fringes. Details like including pleated tulles and ruffles complement a color palette of grey-green, pink, cream, ivory, and charcoal. While ornamental, there were also masculine moments seen in easy midi skirts, pants, and cropped boleros.
