Last night in Miami, Chanel presented a celebratory light show in honor of the centenary anniversary of Chanel No.5. Hosting an intimate viewing party for the occasion, guests were invited to close out yet another bustling day of Miami Art Week by sipping cocktails on Faena Beach, whilst a dazzling fleet of drones illuminated the sky.
The first-ever fragrance to be created by a woman—Gabrielle Chanel herself—the presentation looked to Mademoiselle Chanel’s belief in talismans of luck, which have informed the imagery of the fashion house throughout the years. Onlookers were treated to a show of iconic Chanel visuals, formed by the hundreds of tiny drones buzzing through the sky like fireflies. Zipping through the air like a perfectly choreographed dance, they created mid-air the double C monogram, an elegant camellia, a perfume bottle, and even spelled out the words “CHANEL” and “NO.5.”
