In order to give you the best of Miami, Whitewaller spoke with Silvia Karman Cubiñá, who shared her favorite spots in the city.
FAVORITE SPOT TO FIND INSPIRATION
Julia Tuttle Causeway crossing from Miami Beach to Miami in the early evening when everything is a different shade of beautiful blue. I might have seen this view 11,420 times in the last 11 years and I still, I look up and feel deeply thankful.
BEST OFF-THE-BEATEN-PATH PLACE TO SEE ART
On Miracle Mile is Coral Gables, Hank Willis Thomas’ “The Truth Is I Welcome You”, a journey of thought bubbles and sculptures that trace a route down the street and back up.
BEST KEPT SECRET IN MIAMI
I have a few!
1) In Miami Beach, Sylvanos, half a block from the Convention Center, a simple, quiet, neighborhood Italian restaurant
2) The Anderson, in the Upper East Side, a restaurant/bar holding the first continuous liquor license in Miami Dade County, recently purchased and refurbished by Chef Ken Lyon.
3) Mrs Mandolin– a gorgeous little cafe and boutique in the Design District
